The International Federation of Same Sex Dance Associations (IFSSDA) was founded at the Gay Games in 2010 by LGBTQ/ Same-Sex dance associations in North America and Europe to establish a governing body to sanction and regulate World Championships for same-sex and open role dancesport. Since its inception, IFSSDA has sanctioned competitions for the 2014, 2018 and 2023 Gay Games. Continuing this tradition, IFSSDA will hold its 2026 World Championships as part of the Dancesport competition at the 2026 Gay Games in Valencia, Spain.
