These dance types include Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Country Western, Tango, and other partner dances, as well as different styles within those types, such as International and American Style. NASSPDA acknowledges and celebrates its origins in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.

We attempt to be a transparent, inclusive, and accountable organization designed to serve the interests of its members and to represent those interests to the same-sex ballroom communities around the world.

Members would include dancers, competitors, teachers, event organizers and other interested parties. The organization will respect and encourage diversity with respect to race, ethnicity, disability, and gender identity and expression
